Election Day Resources

Hi all,

Here is a link to the Daily Camera's section about tomorrow's Election.

From here, you can link to the different candidates and issues.

Let's start next semester with a discussion about the presidential primaries and the candidates' stances on education. Be looking for articles and interesting information to talk about in January!

In the meantime, let's use the blog as a discussion forum.

Post often!

Cris Tovani at the Boulder Bookstore Next Week

Cris Tovani, author of "I Read it, but I Don't Get it" will be at the Boulder Book Store on October 2 from 4-5:30pm. Many of us used this book in Bill McGinley's class last semester, and it contains lots of strategies to engage all students in reading activities across the content areas.

Neither Sara nor I will be able to make it, due to student teaching commitments, but we thought we'd pass the info along in case you all are interested. Let us know how it is!

New semester, new ideas...

Thanks to everyone who came to "Mad Hot Ballroom" last week. It was really nice to start the semester with an uplifting movie and some delicious food! I just figured out how to add lists of people to the blog, and I am feeling way more proud of myself than I should.

Anyway, I'm spending a little time thinking about what our next TSC event might be... I am looking online to see what is happening in the CU and Boulder communities in the next month. I will gather some ideas, but if any of you know of something that's going on that TSC might want to attend or be a part of, please post it, or let Sara or me know.

I'm excited about this technological advancement TSC is making!
Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend.

Mad Hot Ballroom

Join us for dinner and a movie on Wednesday, September 5th at 6pm in room 146 in the School of Education. Should be a great night of fun, food, and community building. Bring a dish to share and invite a friend. We'll see you there!

Welcome!

Hey everyone,

At Friday's workshop, Jennie suggested that we set up a blog for the group. Since many of us will be student teaching next semester, Sara and I thought it would be a great way for us to share ideas. Let's use this space to talk about how we are (and aren't) seeing social issues play out in the classroom, issues pertaining to social change, or anything else that's relevant to our group. It can become whatever we want it to be; let's use it as a tool to engage in dialogue and support each other.

Let us know what you think about the blog idea...
